DVD Wholesale Directory – 4/17/07 – 4/23/07
The Dvd Wholesale Directory finally made it in the black. With a net profit of $52.06 for the last seven days, I'm not jumping for joy, but I have made some progress since the last posted loss of $2.65. At the very least, I am headed in the right direction. Here is how I got here.
I haven't made many improvements on the site other than setting up keyword tracking for my ads. What I found was a little surprising. Of the 5 sales I made this week, 3 of them were produced by content ads, 1 by Google Search results, and 2 I couldn't track. My past experience has taught me that content ads are usually dogs, but this isn't the case this week.
I plan on watching the content ads more closely this coming week. I am tracking these ads in groups. Two of the content groups had a conversion rate of 5% and 8%. It may make sense to increase my bids for these two categories and start reducing bids on the losers.
I also believe a new page may make a total difference for this site. Out of the 1233 unique visitors, only 121 of them decided to click one of the affiliate links. There are a much higher percentage of visitors clicking on the adsense ads. I may incorporate a new page design that completely eliminates adsense or greatly reduces its visibility.
I still have a lot of options for traffic. Once I can consistently get this site in the black, I can add traffic from Yahoo, MSN, and Findwhat, and maybe even Lycos.
Good Luck with your business,
Brent Crouch
