DNScoop.com and Compete.com – Both Sites Are Worth Bookmarking

DNScoop.com - I ran across this site the other day and immediately thought it was worth bookmarking. You can get data on any domain name you want, just by entering the domain name and clicking submit. There is no registration required.

DNScoop will give you the domain names age, PR, inbound links, IP, and Alexa rating in one easy to read report. In addition, you will get an estimate of what the domain could earn with Text Link Ads and the estimated value of what the site is worth.

Compete.com - I am very impressed with this site. This site features free site analytics. When I hear the term "site analytics", I immediately think of installing tracking code on my site and looking at reports displaying visitor behavior. This isn't the case with Compete.com.

Compete.com will let you enter any domain you want and will give you a free estimate of how many visitors the domain gets per month. Frankly, I'm not sure how they get this data, but when I entered some of my top domains, it was kind of scary to see their estimates were definitely in the right ball park. You can also pay to get a list of keywords used to generate traffic to any domain you want.

This can be a great tool for spying on competitors or weighing the value of a niche you are considering tackling.
