Building Page Rank With BackLinks – Sprudio.net – Site Review – Part 4
One of the most important aspects of SEO is off site optimization. This comes in the form of backlinks from other sites. A backlink to your site is like a vote. Theoretically, the more votes your site gets, the higher you will rank in the search results.
In Google's eyes not all backlinks are created equal. There are several factors in determining how valuable a backlink will be to your site. This includes the page rank of the site your link is on, the amount of outgoing links on that page, the anchor text, and the subject matter of the site linking to you. (is it related to your site)
Page Rank
The page rank of the site linking to you is an important factor. The higher the page rank, the more page rank will flow through the link and into your site. You can determine the page rank of any page by installing the Google Toolbar.
Amount of Outgoing Links
The more links on a page the less valuable they are. The page rank will be divided among all the links on the page.
Anchor Text
Anchor text is the text you click to follow a link. For example, the anchor text for this link Brent Crouch is Brent Crouch. The anchor text for Wholesale Dvds would be wholesale dvds.
Google pays close attention to the anchor text used to link to your site to help determine what your site is about. If you are trying to rank for the term, "Hypnosis Cds", then you should concentrate on getting links with "Hypnosis CDs" as the anchor text. But be sure to mix it up!
Google wants your links to be natural. If you have 1,000 links pointing to your site and they all have "Hypnosis Cds" as the anchor text, it's clear that this isn't natural and was created as the result of a link building campaign. So mix up your anchor text. If the term you are trying to rank for is "Hypnosis Cds" then you would certainly use that in some of your anchor text, but you should also include Hypnosis Cd, Subliminal Cds, Hypnosis Audios, Subliminal Audio, and even Sprudio.net.
Subject Matter Of The Site Linking To You
Getting a link from a site with related content provides a better link than a site with unrelated content. The reason is it appears to be more natural. In the real world, you wouldn't find many sites with content related to home building linking to a site like Sprudio.net. But you would expect a site with hypnosis related content to link to it.
Building Backlinks
There are many ways to get backlinks to your site. You can provide interesting content that people would want to link to. You can purchase high quality paid directory links. Another way is to participate and comment on blogs and forums that are related to your subject matter.

Sprudio.net has some great backlinks. Elena, I'd love to know how you got some of them. It'd be a good lesson for me to learn as well.
The most impressive is from a PR5 page on Wiki. Even though the link is nofollowed, it is an important link that lends credibility. When you have a site like Wikipedia linking to you, it lends weight to your credibility.
Sprudio.net could work on the anchor text to include keywords and phrases that are being targeted by the site.

My back links all come from posting my links to site directory. I never paid for one link. Some are from my customers that appreciate our products and got good results. As you know we have Self Help Subliminal, since our clients (some of them) are business people they post my website in their website as sign of appreciation. There is no secret only hard work.
I am not ranking well for few keywords I would love to rank, what should I do? I did what SEO says, that words are in title, metatags and also in Keyword Density.

The link you have on Wiki is very good. That’s a link a lot of people would love to have.
In my opinion, you really need to target some of the easier keywords that I sent you in the excel file. From my experience, picking the wrong keywords will be the end of your site.
A good example is SEO Project #1 that I created so many posts about. It has taken me a year to get that site ranked in 5th place on Google. It was because I was inexperienced in the keywords I chose.
By comparision, I just created a new site less than a month ago. My keyword research has improved. In less than 3 weeks I am ranked #3 for my main keyword.
The second thing you have to concentrate on is building backlinks. This is another important aspect of SEO. You don’t have to buy links. I’d recommend writing a few articles and submitting them to article directories. I build 90% of my links doing this.

I used some of that key words, but I can not use many of them. My target is not free subliminal or hypnosis, my target are subliminal messages and subliminal cds. For free subliminal mp3 I rank number one or two- I rank number one for free subliminal audio and also for Silent subliminal. I don’t want to use keywords that will not explain our product and doesn’t bring me sales.
In WIki, I posted once two years ago, they erased the link, then I had a talk with the moderator and left my link in unaltered. I guess I was lucky.

Try and think of your product from a potential customers perspective. You are much more knowledgeable about your subject than a potential customer would be.
For me, I find your product very interesting and just purchased a couple of hypnosis cds right before we met. I’d of loved to have found your site, but I wasn’t educated enough about your subject matter to search for subliminal cds.
When I was searching for “weight loss hypnosis” if you would have had a page that ranked for that term, you would have had the opportunity to have me as a customer. You may not be selling hypnosis cds, but you are selling something similar.
You would have had the chance to explain the difference between your product and hypnosis cds and why I should purchase your product instead.

I run a lot of adwords campaigns for my product sites. You should checkout perrymarshall.com. I’ve got some excellent info from his site that helped me tremendously with adwords.
Another good resource I would highly recommend is Dan Theis blog. He offers a download of an SEO Book that is free and second to none of the paid SEO Books out there. Dan is truly and SEO expert. He has more SEO knowledge of SEO in his little finger than I’ll ever know.
