Affiliate Marketing Test

I host a few affiliate programs on a couple of my websites. I have even used some affiliate links on a couple of my product sites. But the Dvd-Wholesale-Directory is the first website I created for the sole purpose of affiliate marketing.

I am pretty experienced with websites, so it only took a couple of hours to create including writing the content. So far, the results haven't been that great. Only 11% of my visitors bother to click one of the affiliate links, and out of 1000 visitors and 100 affiliate clicks, I've managed to make one sale.

What has been interesting is the adsense CTR. It is north of 30% on most days. The 336 x 280 banners at the top of the page really does the trick. What has been disappointing is the low value of the adsense clicks. I am not sure if I am a victim of smart pricing, but most of the clicks I am getting are less than 12 cents. So much for adsense arbitrage. Ughhh.....

This site is a work in progress. I haven't spent much time to see if I can make some changes to increase my affiliate clicks. I have a couple of page variations in mind that may just do the trick.
