Free FTP Software for Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista

I love free software. But does anyone really spend the time developing and debugging software only to give it away? Not really. Most of the time when I use a free software it is very limited in its functionality. Ususally, the other features I need are readily available in a paid edition.

This wasn't the case with Filezilla. It included all the functionality I will ever need in an FTP software. Compared to WS FTP that costs $39.95 - $89.95 depending on the features you want, I would choose Free FTP every time.

Filezilla shows the following operating system requirements. (Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/NT/2000/XP) Even though it doesn't show it is supported, I installed it on my laptop that is running Windows Vista. I haven't experienced any problems. It seems to work fine.

One of the things I liked most about Filezilla was the automated feature that would automatically reconnect and continue a download or upload that was interrupted. This came in very handy when I was transferring some of my large sites to a new server.
